The Science That Comes In 2022:The Final Battle Against Covid
The current year will be decisive in the development of the pandemic. We will see if we are able to control the variants or if the nightmare continues. In the rest of the fields, great challenges await science.
Making predictions about what the next year will bring us is an exercise in ingenuity, but there are some milestones in the calendar that give us clues about where the shots in science and technology will go.
The covid-19 pandemic will continue to mark everything and we will see, to what extent the omicron variant changes the world scenario, if the vaccines stop the blow or if new variants appear in the following months. Given the unprecedented spread of the virus in the final phase of 2021, the first two months of the year 2022 will predictably be the hardest, but we will soon know if the effect of this sixth wave is explosive and punctual or if it complicates the rest of winter.
Presumably, the year 2022 will be the year of the third and fourth doses of the vaccine in rich countries and in which the use of new antivirals that slow down the serious evolution of the disease will become widespread, with all that this implies from the health point…
